The challenge
Scene Shang is a Singapore furniture and home décor label that reworks Chinese and Asian design traditions into modern, functional pieces — modular storage, tables, lighting and accessories — sold online and through its own boutiques. Furniture like this is a considered purchase. A shopper scrolling a feed sees a striking piece, but before committing to a desk, a cabinet or a modular system they want to understand the materials, the dimensions and how it will sit in their own home, and many leave to think it over. That makes paid media easy to waste: broad campaigns attract admirers who never return, while the shoppers who are genuinely furnishing a home are not followed through a buying cycle that can run for weeks. And because the range runs from small accessories to statement furniture, the brand needed each order to carry more of the collection, not just a single item.
The objective
Grow online sales profitably. Success was defined in sales terms: a return on ad spend strong enough to justify putting more budget behind the campaigns, a store that converted a healthy share of the visitors that budget paid for, and larger baskets — shoppers adding complementary pieces and accessories so each order was worth more than the item that first caught their eye.
What we did
We ran performance campaigns across Meta and Google Shopping and Search, with a clear job for each channel. Meta carried discovery, with creative that showed the pieces styled in real rooms and up close, so a new shopper could judge scale, finish and fit before clicking through. Shopping and Search captured demand that already existed: searches for the brand by name, for its signature furniture lines and for design-led furniture and home décor in Singapore, with the product feed kept accurate so spend followed what was actually in stock. Retargeting then followed product viewers and shoppers who had added to cart across the longer furniture buying cycle, bringing them back to the specific pieces they had considered.
Underneath the paid work we strengthened SEO for the branded and product-led searches the store should own, so a growing share of shoppers arrived without a media cost attached. On site, the website and conversion optimisation work focused on the questions that stall a furniture purchase: dimensions, materials and care shown clearly beside each product, delivery information surfaced before checkout, and complementary pieces and accessories placed alongside the main item to build fuller baskets. Email and retargeting worked together after the first visit — abandoned-cart and browse follow-ups for considered shoppers, and new-collection updates for existing customers — to bring buyers back to complete and add to their orders.
The result
Over six to seven months the campaigns returned 3.5–5x on ad spend, the store converted 3.5% or more of its visitors, and average order value rose by 10–15% — more revenue from every order the campaigns brought in.
